About the Business
Real Estate Investors are always in need of "property runners" to assist locally with a deal. Typically these are simple errands, such as taking pictures of a house, installing a lockbox, or hosting a buyer walkthrough. The solution in the past has been to use Facebook and Craigslist to try to find someone in a particular area to do these jobs, or use a middleman company that schedules someone for you. These options are either time-consuming, expensive, poor quality, or a mixture of all three. With InvestorLens, there is zero friction between User and Provider; all communication and transaction is done directly between the two. The pricing is negotiated directly between User and Provider, putting money back in both pockets. And the speed is faster than any other service; just type in a city, and find someone to do your job. InvestorLens is the ultimate matchmaker between gig-workers and real estate investors.
Business Model
Currently, account creation for Users and Providers is $4.99, which is set up through Stripe integration as an annual membership. This is, of course, a very small price to pay for our platform. We wanted to set it up this way to gain a lot of traffic and traction upfront once we launch, so there is no hesitation or friction. This way we can build a solid foundation, and then iterate from there. Mailchimp is also connected to both Users and Providers signups. They are filtered into two separate audiences at this time automatically. Accumulating a substantial email subscriber list is a priority for us.
Competitive Landscape
No competitors doing what we are doing. Closest thing are photography companies such as Velocity REO, which is a middleman processor that pays their property runners terribly, and doesn't give the customer any connection. This means that those property runners will much rather work on InvestorLens so that they can make more and build their own business; and customers would rather build those connections with property runners directly, and cut out the middleman. Other "competitors" would be Craigslist and Angi, both of which are obnoxious to use and are not niched down to the REI market.
Reason for Selling
We have spent many months building this product from an idea to a fully-functional product. The next step is advertising and marketing to start bringing in accounts. I am considering selling to someone who knows marketing better than I do, who sees the vision and potential, and lets me walkaway with a small win. If no takers, then I will continue to build and grow it myself. Please write me and let's chat. Thank you for your time!
